The Houston Chronicle’s John McClain is reporting that former Houston Texans OG Mike Brisiel will visit with the team sometime soon. The 29 year-old guard has started 47 games for the Texans since 2007, and is both effective in and familiar with the zone blocking system Greg Knapp will install. This is the Raiders first reported visit; it’s still early, but a lot of movement has already been made. Brisiel should come at a reasonable cost, and would help shore up the interior of the offensive line.
Brisiel met with Oakland Thursday. He left without signing a contract. The Raiders are currently looking to replace Cooper Carlisle at RG, the same position Brisiel has anchored in Houston.
